RECALLR is a Chrome extension that lets you highlight text on any webpage and save it as a timed beacon reminder. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We collect only what is necessary for the extension to function.
Account information
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and a unique user ID via Supabase Auth. Sign-in is optional — RECALLR works fully without an account for users who do not need cloud sync or a Pro subscription.
Authentication tokens
When you sign in, your OAuth access token and refresh token are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. They are used only to authenticate requests to our backend and are never shared with third parties.
Beacon content
When you save a beacon, we store the text you selected, the page title, and the URL of the page you were on. This data is stored locally on your device. For signed-in Pro users it is also synced to our cloud database so your beacons are available across devices.
Subscription status
For signed-in users we check whether your account has an active Pro subscription. The result is cached locally and used only to determine your plan tier.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email & user ID | Identifying your account and associating your beacons with it |
| Auth tokens | Authenticating requests to our backend on your behalf |
| Beacon text, URL, page title | Delivering the core reminder functionality |
| Subscription status | Determining whether you are on the Free or Pro plan |
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third party except as described below.
Supabase — Our backend handles account authentication and cloud storage of beacon data for Pro users. Supabase infrastructure is hosted on AWS. See supabase.com/privacy.
Stripe — If you upgrade to Pro, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout. RECALLR does not handle or store any payment information. See stripe.com/privacy.
Guest users (not signed in) have all data stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on their own device. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
Signed-in users have beacon data synced to our Supabase database. You can delete individual beacons or all beacons at any time from the dashboard. To request full account deletion and removal of all associated server-side data, contact us at the address below.
You can export all your beacon data at any time using the Export button in the dashboard. You can delete individual beacons from the dashboard at any time. To request complete account and data deletion, contact us directly.
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
